Sapphire RX 7900 GRE Review

Sapphire RX 7900 GRE Nitro+

The Nitro+ is, after the Pulse, more in keeping with current card designs. The shroud around the fans is smooth and rounded at the corners. The fans are still bananas, but if it works that’s all we care about. We’d hate for Sapphire to change things up for the sake of it.

Nitro Front

The backplate continues the dark grey colouring of the front. There is also a cut-out to help circulate air to the top of your case.

Nitro Rear

On the underside you can see the extra bracing Sapphire use on the Nitro+. Rigidity is important after all. You can also see the rounded edges we were saying about. It’s a card that feels good in the hands.

Nitro side

We’ll get to the connections in a moment. For now you can see the light bar that we’re showing off at the top of each page of this review. It manages to be simple and yet attractive. Classy. Giving you RGB without turning into a pop concert.

Within the backplate cutout there is a header for a fan. This is so you can let the temperature of the card determine the fans speed to draw more cooling air in when needed. A smart solution to graphics card heat issues.

Nitro+ Vent

Power for the Sapphire Nitro+ is delivered just like the Pulse. Two 8pin PCIe headers. The keen eyed amongst you will have spotted the ARGB header next to them. Another way of letting the card determine the looks of your system. Harmonious.

Nitro Power

Around the back we have the same pair of HDMI and DisplayPort outputs we saw on the Pulse. Although the RX 7900 GRE Nitro+ has three ‘fingers’ to suit its thicker nature.

Nitro IO

Lastly a close up of the incredible fin density that hides away beneath the Sapphire Nitro+ cooler. It is impressive stuff.
