Coolermaster Mastermouse MM520 and MM530 Review

Introduction

When the CM Storm arm of Coolermaster was still around they produced a massive amount of affordable mice covering a wide variety of designs. 

Since then CM Storm has disappeared from the radar and Coolermaster have moved into a series of peripherals labelled Masterx. We’ve reviewed the Masterpulse headsets, Masterkeys keyboards, and even some Mastermouse Pro mice. Today we have two mice that follow on from the affordable nature of the CM Storm products of yore, whilst still being bang up to date with their feature set.

Both are similar enough in their specifications that we’re reviewing them together, so let’s take a look at the Mastermouse MM520 and Mastermouse MM530.

Technical Specifications

The MM520 and MM530 are very tightly matched in specifications with just the extra button on the MM530 due to its palm based design. The MM520 reminds us in design terms of the old Xornet we liked so much whilst the MM530 follows the regular slightly-right-handed-but-not design that doesn’t quite match up to full ambidextrous but could still be usable by a left handed person.

Both have a very beefy sensor, particularly given their affordable cost, with the PixArt 3360 supporting up to 12000 DPI at 50G acceleration, easy to obtain when the mice only weight 132 including cable.
