MSI Forge GK600 TKL Review

Lighting

It’s fair to say that lighting is chiefly the area on which keyboards fall down. It’s much harder to get colours that pop than you might imagine. And some shades – primarily yellow and white – are the acid test for how good your lighting is. MSI and the Forge GK600 have nearly nailed it. Only the greenish tinge to the yellow stops it from scoring perfectly across the board. Here are the default shades, and bear in mind you can tweak them yourself.

Rainbow connection.

Good old red, nothing gets that wrong. It’s, by far, the colour that every RGB device replicates the best and the Forge GK600 is no exception.

Orange is actually closer to yellow, so pale is it.

Meanwhile the yellow leans much closer to a lime green. That Crayola colour nobody used.

Luckily those are the only flaws. Actual green is stunning.

Light blue really pops. Great to know considering how popular a choice it is.

Deep blue strays towards purple. Cue Jimi Hendrix…

If the yellow was actually tinged with green, MSI need massive credit for making the white on the Forge GK600 be white. Our photo here gives the impression it’s slightly blue, but trust us. In real life it’s just white.
