Enthusiast Award – What Excited Tom the most at Computex

For those who are unaware, TinyTomLogan started his PC career as a modder, creating a range of custom systems with automotive-grade paint jobs, heavy-duty water cooling and overclocked processors. 

This experience has made him the perfect man for modders tips, especially when it comes to liquid cooling, which often lands us a lot of complaints when we sometime lean towards form instead of function in some of our case reviews. 

Like most PC builders, we want our systems to offer a clean aesthetic and if possible something that is unique or exclusive. We like to see PC builds that break a little from the norm and provide that little personal touch that can change a system from a collection of parts into something that can truly be called your own.    

While we are giving Cooler Master our “Enthusiast Award”, as nothing has made TTL more Enthusiastic at Computex, it doesn’t have an official name. Their prototype can be best described as an angle/upright stand for a builder’s CPU and motherboard. 

This prototype offers PC builders an unconventional, yet striking aesthetic, breaking past the normal to create something that left most of OC3D’s staff excited at the prospect of using it in a future system build. This assumes that Cooler Master will make their prototype into a shipping product, though a lot of work needs to be done to give this add-on a cost-friendly price tag.  

To be completely honest, this product has had a greater impact on us than pretty much anything else at the Cooler Master booth, so much so that we may add this part to our H500P-based video editing system if/when Cooler Master eventually releases this as a final product. This makes Cooler Master’s MasterCase Diagonal Mounting system deserving of an OC3D Enthusiast Award.
