Call of Duty: WWII PC Performance Review

Call of Duty: WWII PC Performance Review

1080p Benchmarks

Our Call of Duty: WWII testing section comes from the game’s single-player campaign, a mode that typically offers lower framerates than the game’s multiplayer modes, which are designed to focus more on gameplay/performance than narrative and storytelling. Please bear this in mind when looking at these results, as the typical average framerates seen in multiplayer matches are significantly higher than this.

Even so, looking at these results it is clear to see that most of the GPUs that we have tested are able to play Call of Duty: WWII at maximum settings at 1080p, with average framerate over 60FPS. Some small settings reductions will get all GPUs down to the RX 480 over this barrier, which is great news for those who use modern mid-high-end hardware.

One thing to also take note of here is that Call of Duty: WWII’s in-game cutscenes can be much more demanding than actual gameplay, which means that at times framerates can be lower than this. This is acceptable for non-interactive sections of the game, though it can be annoying. There are plenty of locations in this game where our average framerates here could be used as minimum framerates, especially in locations that use smaller, more linear maps.
