Far Cry 6 PC Performance Review and Optimisation Guide

1440p performance – High-end cards are still CPU-limited

Our 1440p performance charts tell a similar story to our 1080p performance charts. Far Cry 6 is CPU/memory limited, and that makes average and minimum framerates that are far above 60 FPS difficult to achieve. While the game appears to be well optimised on the CPU side, things are a little lacking on the CPU front.

Even so, 60 FPS experiences are fairly easy to achieve on today’s high-end hardware at 1440p.

Ray Tracing On

At 1440p, GPUs like AMD’s RX 6600 XT will need to rely on FidelityFX Super Resolution to achieve 60 FPS framerates at 1440p when Ray Tracing is enabled. For Nvidia’s RTX 2060, FSR will deliver a performance boost, but this should be used alongside lower image quality settings to avoid using FSR’s lower quality modes. FSR looks best when using its Quality and Ultra Quality modes, offering an excellent balance between image quality and performance.
