Quake Champions Early Access Performance Review

4K Performance

It is only at 4K where we see GPUs start to struggle with Quake Champions, with none of the GPUs that we tested achieving 60+ FPS average or minimum framerates. Higher end GPUs like the GTX 1080 Ti or Titan X/Xp should be able to easily achieve a steady 60FPS at 4K Ultra, though every GPU can achieve a steady 60FPS at this resolution using lower graphical presets.

In Quake Champions steady 60+ FPS framerates are encouraged, with every GPU tested here with the exception of the GTX 1080 simply feeling too slow to feel comfortable through the duration of play. The GTX 1080 does have its minor slowdowns, though even that is enough to encourage us to lower the game’s settings or resolution scale for a rock solid 60+ FPS framerate.
