Resident Evil 3 Remake PC Performance Review and Optimisation Guide

Resident Evil 3 Remake PC Performance Review and Optimisation Guide

Performance Scaling – Performance Priority to Maximum settings

When playing Resident Evil 3 under DirectX 12 (see page 4), you will see that AMD’s Radeon RX 5700 has a huge performance advantage over Nvidia’s RTX 2060, but this gap lessens when we move to DirectX 11.

On average, AMD graphics cards see less of a performance benefit from moving to DirectX 12 to DirectX 11 than their Geforce counterparts. That said, most Radeon graphics cards do outperform their Nvidia rivals in Resident Evil 3 under all graphical APIs.

Looking at the data below, you can see that Resident Evil 3 is an incredibly scalable game on PC, allowing gamers to double their graphics performance by moving from the game’s Maximum to Performance Priority Preset. As we mentioned before, the game’s Performance Priority mode still looks great on PC, though higher modes are recommended if you want to see the game at its best. Higher-resolution textures are a huge benefit if you have enough VRAM.
