Resident Evil 3 Remake PC Performance Review and Optimisation Guide

1440p Performance

1440p is much more of a challenge than 1080p, though none of the graphics cards we used passed under the 30FPS 99th percentile framerate barrier. So, with a framerate cap of 30 FPS and a gamepad, even users of GPUs like the GTX 1060 can enjoy a decent gaming experience at 1440p. That said, some lower settings and perhaps a little resolution scaling would be able to get the GTX 1060 to run Resident Evil 3 at a faux-1440p resolution.

For 1440p 60FPS gameplay, graphics cards like AMD’s RX Vega 56 and GTX 1080 or higher are ideal, requiring only a lowering of Volumetric lighting to Medium to achieve 60+ FPS framerates at almost all times. Fans of ultra-high framerates will also be glad to know that this game can run at over 100 FPS when maxed out on an RTX 2080 Ti.
