Total War Saga: Thrones of Britannia PC Performance Review

1440p Benchmarks  

Cranking the resolution up to 1440p we can see that the minimum framerate on our GTX 1080 barely drops, offering a minimum framerate of 55 with an average of 72.4, offering us a great gameplay experience in battles.

Our GTX 1070 offers lower performance levels but can still keep the game’s framerate above 50FPS throughout our battle testing, which is no small feat at this resolution. Even the GTX 1060 offers respectable results with a framerate of between 40 and 50 FPS, though it is clear that a lot of settings need to be adjusted before an almost constant 60FPS can be achieved on these two graphics cards.     

1440p is where we can start to see out graphics card resources get utilised properly by Thrones of Britannia, though it is clear that our GTX 1080 is still somewhat CPU limited. 

Update – We have updated the graph below with benchmark results for AMD’s Radeon RX Vega 56 and RX 580 graphics cards, both of which seems to be a little more CPU limited than their Intel counterparts, offering lower minimum framerate numbers.
