Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 PC Performance Review

CPU Performance

Does your PC need a beefy CPU to handle Space Marine 2’s Tyanid invasion

Space Marine 2 is a CPU-heavy game on PC. It isn’t hard to make this game CPU-limited on a high-end system. All you need to do is set the game’s resolution to 1080p, and you should be CPU-limited across many game areas. This is especially true in areas with large swarms, especially if there are Tyranid ripper swarms.

We will note that we achieved a notable boost in CPU performance after turning off our i9-13900K CPU’s E-cores. This may be something that Intel Alder Lake and Raptor Lake users should consider doing when playing this game. We will also note that moving from 4 to 6 and then 8 active P-cores resulted in notable performance increases.

Sadly, Space Marine 2 does not have graphical settings that directly impact CPU performance. This means that users of older CPUs have limited options if they want to increase their framerates in CPU-limited areas. This is bad news for users of older Intel Core or AMD Ryzen CPUs.
