Gaming

For our gaming tests we’re, as always, running with the settings pretty much maxed out. There are two things to bear in mind though. Firstly the RX 6700 XT isn’t made for 4K gaming, it’s about that 1080/1440 sweet spot. Given that any 4K monitor worth owning is getting close to the cost of this entire system it makes sense that people looking here will largely be running at more popular resolutions. Secondly the RX 6700 XT just isn’t cut out for Ray Tracing. Control and SOTTR are in regular mode. Clearly the Torva Pro R can’t run Cyberpunk 2077 at “everything on” settings, but then nothing can. Turn down to High though and you’ll be in that 60 FPS sweet spot. Everything else easily busts the 60 FPS barrier with the only exception of Riftbreaker Intense and that’s a CPU based test that hasn’t got a chance of 60 FPS anyway.

As for BAR? When things get hot and heavy it can help to get a few extra FPS, and as there is precisely no downside for going into the BIOS, clicking one button, and having it, why not run it all the time.
