Up Close

As you might have guessed from the identically themed packaging, the TD02 E comes from the same line as the previously reviewed TD03 E, although we’re not quite sure why the larger of the two coolers should have the smaller digit associated with it (I guess we’re missing something obvious, so do be sure to point it out in the comments)

The TD02 E comes with a pair of monochromatic SilverStone fans which are identical in every respect to those that come packaged with the TD03 E.  The fans will rev up to 2500rpm and can move 92.5CFM with a static pressure of 3.5mm H2O and a manufacturers stated noise level of 35dB(A)

The TD02 E also has perspex side panels, but instead of using a single piece, which we think would have looked nicer, they have instead just used two of the 120mm panels used on the TD03 E

The screw-less contact plate really is a thing of beauty, as is to be honest the whole single piece Aluminium block that forms the housing.  To aid in flexibility, the tubing joins the block with 90 degrees rotary joints.

We thought we’d give you a close up of the Brazing fins that SilverStone have opted for instead of the more commonly seen type.  The fins are quite a bit thicker than the usual type, and are very robust indeed.  It’s also worth noting that the screw holes have small rubber pads around them to aid in noise and vibration dampening.

The matte black rubber hosing is quite flexible and resists kinking well.  Although not having posh braiding, we do quite look the Black rubber look (ahem).

The TD02 E installs with ease thanks to the intuitive fitting method and clear instructions.  As there’s no speed altering software or hardware, we’ll just be testing this at the full 12v, along with the Vardars of course.

Ok, so it doesn’t have RGB LEDs, but the SilverStone snowflake does light up a nice cool ice blue when the pump is operational.
