Up Close:  Interior Rear

Bob knows how many cases we’ve collectively reviewed at OC3D, it’s definitely in the high 100s.  From a personal point of view, this is actually the 123rd case that I’ve reviewed.  Why are we telling you this?  Well, because never before have we seen a case where the stock wiring, which is the wiring as it leaves the factory, is such an untidy state.  Normally, the wires are all bundled together and lashed to the chassis or Mobo tray, and although a cursory nod has been given to this with the Phalanx, things can in no way be described as “tidy”  Again, we ask ourselves the question.  Does this keep the costs down?  Probably it does.  Does it lessen the performance?  Nope, we’re going to undo everything anyway.  Does it, cosmically speaking matter?  Nope.  So there you are.

On the positive side, you do though get a good 25mm of cable management space behind the Mobo, which is more than generous

This little gizmo is the hub of the DRGB lighting center.  It has such wonderful capabilities and can work with compatible motherboards.  Just a shame the Kolink didn’t take the time to mount it square to the vertical axis of the motherboard (better seen on the first image of this page).  Hang on though, let’s ask the question again.  Did it reduce cost?  Maybe it did, as they didn’t take the increased time and man hours to secure it aesthetically.  Aesthetically you say?  Will it be seen?  Well, no it won’t, but that’s not the point.  So what is the point?  Well, we’re not exactly sure, we’d just really like it to be straight to assure us that this is a quality product.  Does it cosmically speaking matter?  Er…No.

Although no official figures are given, our review finds that the rear PSU area is able to accept PSUs up to 170mm in length, allowing for the fact that there will be cables coming off the back of the PSU.

Towards the front of the rear of the case we find an HDD rack.  As you might imagine from the picture, this rack will accept a pair of 3.5″ drives or a pair of 2.5″ drives or any combination of the two.
