Lian Li PC-O5S ITX Case Review
Up Close: Exterior Overview
Cases with oversized tempered glass side panels might be a joy to behold, but for us reviewers they’re a pain in the derrière to photograph. Measuring 465x384x148mm (HxWxD), the PC-O5S is definitely on the large side for an enclosure that only takes the M-ITX Motherboard. But then this case is more about statement than anything else, so who cares how big it is. In the images below we see the case as it emerges from its box. You’ll notice that it doesn’t have feet, the reason for this being that it is primarily designed to be wall mountable via some sturdy brackets on the rear.
If wall hanging is not your thing you can always mount the PC-O5S on the supplied base.
The Base is formed from a single piece of Aluminium, and has very dense foam pads at either end to help reduce any transmitted vibration. To secure the base it’s first necessary to remove the window panel retaining thumb bolts, and the smaller bolts at the back.
With the case slotted in the bolts are then replaced. Elegant though the end result is, it does mean that if you want to remove either the front ot rear panel you’re going to have to remove the stand first, and then re-fit it when you’re finished.
