Lian Li PC-O5S ITX Case Review

Lian Li PC-O5S Review

Up Close:  Exterior Front, Rear and Roof

We’ve stood the case up in the traditional manner to make it easier to refer to its aspects.  However, if you had the case mounted on a wall you could very easily refer to the large glass panel as the front of the case.  So then, the front.  Well for starters, like the rest of the exterior, it’s formed from brushed Aluminium.  Cut into this at angles are recessed, mesh backed ventilation slots, giving quite an open air feel, and plenty of airflow.  Up at the top there’s a cover plate for a slim line optical device, whilst down at the bottom there’s a brace of USB 3s and HD audio as well as a high quality feel vandal style power/reset button.

The rear of the case is very similar to the front in that it is also formed from brushed Aluminium, only without the mesh inserts.  The reason for this of course is that when the case is wall mounted this will actually be one of the sides.  If you are going to wall mount you might want to position the case so that this aspect faces into a corner as it’s not going to be that pretty with all the cables hanging out of it.

The roof of the case has a large mesh area to provide additional ventilation.  Under this there’s a pair of 120mm fans.  The right hand side of the case has a ventilation area for a 140mm fan although none is provided with this model.  In the picture below right we can also see the slots designed to accept screw heads when the case is wall mounted.
