AMD Ryzen 5 3400G Review

Gears 5 is Microsoft’s latest AAA game, and once again AMD’s Ryzen 5 3400G has proven itself to be a capable budget gaming component. With Gears 5 set to medium, the game ran with stable 30+ FPS framerates at 900p, offering an experience that’s not too dissimilar to a standard Xbox One. 

Set the game to 1080p with a resolution framerate target of 30FPS and PC players should run into few issues under the game’s medium preset. Not bad for such an affordable APU.

Again, strong memory performance benefits AMD’s Ryzen 5 3400G APU, having a significant impact on average framerates at all resolutions. This makes sense, as the base Xbox One offers memory raw memory bandwidth than even a dual-channel 3200MHz setup can offer.
