Undervolting Guide

Video and Final Thoughts

We’re well aware that some of you prefer a video to follow along to, perhaps on your phone. Hopefully the combination of this written guide, and the video, makes everything clear. We don’t think it’s that hard to follow. It can seem daunting. Hopefully, because we’re not pushing more power through your rig, those of you who fear releasing the magic blue smoke will be reassured enough to try. Certainly, as you saw from our results, undervolting can give swathes of extra performance whilst also lowering the power needs and lowering your temperatures. It’s nothing but winning in every possible regard.

We haven’t even discussed the possibility that lower temperatures and voltages might enable you to move them slowly up in conjunction with increasing the core multiplier for an overclock. Something to bear in mind if you’re feeling brave.

Did you have any success? Share your scores and temperatures from your undervolting adventures in our OC3D Forums.
