Dying Light: The Following PC Performance Review – AMD VS Nvidia

GTX 980 Ti and R9 Fury X performance at 4K

At 4K we can very rarely find a game that runs this well on today’s hardware, managing to achieve framerates that average at over 60FPS while still looking visually pleasing.

Dying Light is a title that can be applauded for running very well at 4K,  managing to keep framerates above 30 up to even the highest settings in almost all cases for both GPUs. AMD’s R9 Fury X still stays behind Nvidia here, but we can see at the balanced and Quality presets that the difference is very small at 4K. 

At 4K this is one of the few modern AAA graphically intensive games that actually plays well, with other modern title like Rise of the Tomb Raider requiring a large graphical downgrade to come even close to these kinds of framerates, though to maintain a minimum of above 60 we will need to have some more powerful hardware than is currently available.  

To play this game with a high framerate at 4K (60+ minimum FPS) you need more power than any single GPU today can deliver. Sadly we do not have a second GTX 980Ti or a R9 Fury X to hand for crossfire of SLI testing, so we cannot comment on Multi-GPU performance.
