XCOM 2 PC Performance Review – AMD VS Nvidia
Graphical Options, Settings and Controls
XCOM has plenty of graphical options to mess with with full support for resolution up to 4K and has plenty of options for AA, Depth of Field and many other graphical options.Â
This game is pretty demanding when you turn it up to max, even on today’s flagship GPU, so I would not advise you to go straight up to maximum details, especially if you game at resolutions higher than 1080p.Â
With such a wide range of options this game is able to scale well with a lot of hardware, enabling gamers to place a lot of stress their hardware regardless of how high or low end it is, provided it is above the game’s minimum requirements.Â
On the controls side of things this game supports full mouse and keyboard key rebinding, allowing PC gamers to modify their controls to their liking, which is always a great thing to see.
This game also has full support for the Steam Controller, players the option to play the game with a controller if they prefer it, though I found the game to be much easier to use with my mouse and Keyboard.Â
Below we have the game settings that we used to play the game, moving from the games Minimum to Maximum presets.Â
This leaves us with 6 different sets of graphical detail options to test. You can see the presets below and can see screenshots comparing these settings and benchmark data for these settings on the following pages.
One thing that is nice to see when you change the graphical settings in this game is that the graphics in the backround changes whenever you change your settings, Â giving you a small glimpse of what to expect when you change your settings.Â
