Graphical Comparisons – Minimum, Low, Medium, High and Maximum

This first screenshot is of a soldier as he is about to fire upon on enemy in an early mission, giving us a great opportunity to see some character models and environmental details close up.

In this screenshot we can see that there is not that much difference between the Minimum and Low detail settings, though that is unsurprising given the fact that texture details and shadow quality are unchanged.

Moving from Low to medium shows a nice bump in texture quality and higher resolution shadows. This is most visible on the weapon models and in the edges of shadows of a lot of environmental objects.

At high settings we see a lot of reflections on objects and better shadow quality, especially on the character models, making them look much more realistic. moving to maximum settings does very little apart from making the game look sharper, which is due to the move from FXAA to MSAA.

Please click on the images below to see them in their full 4K resolution.

Again here moving from Minimum to low has very little visual difference, with the move from Low to Medium having a much greater visual impact, casting higher resolution shadows and adding shadows to the your squad.

As you continue moving up the graphical settings the biggest visual difference is in the game’s shadows, though if you look closely at a lot of objects you can see an improvement in the games textures.
