Corsair Scimitar RGB MOBA/MMO Gaming Mouse Review

Corsair Scimitar RGB MMO Gaming Mouse Review

You don’t have to go too far back into the annals of gaming history to reach a time when the concept of Multiplayer Online Battle Arena’s (MOBA) were something nobody had heard of. Sure Everquest and then World of Warcraft took the MMO from dark rooms into the public consciousness, but strategy games were limited to one-on-one battles in either Starcraft or Command and Conquer.

Nowadays though the MOBA are everywhere, thanks largely to the free-to-play ability which lets anyone with a copy of Steam get their game on, and sponsorship which makes John Carmack’s Ferrari giveaway to Thresh seem a token gesture.

Where every millisecond can make the difference between glorious victory or an ignominious defeat, so peripheral manufacturers have taken up the reins to bring as much as possible to your fingertips, and Corsair’s Scimitar is the latest venture into this rapidly expanding market. With a 12000 DPI sensor and 12 side buttons, it promises to hone the edge of even the most adept player’s armoury.

The headline number is undoubtedly that 12000 DPI sensor. We’re mere mortals here at OC3D and cannot imagine having the reactions necessary to take full advantage of such a lofty figure, so “pro-proven” is a suitable adjective. With full-spectrum RGB lighting and an adjustable key section it should be possible to tailor this to everyone’s preference. What’s an adjustable key slider you ask? Let’s take a look.
