Corsair Dominator Titanium Review
First Edition Packaging
First Edition Packaging
As we said above, we’re fortunate enough to have received one of the limited First Editions. This has a few extras over and above the regular kit, as well as coming in the kind of premium packaging that is a joy to look at and open. Whenever you’re spending a serious chunk of change on something you don’t want it to arrive in a plain cardboard box. This is doubly true if, like us, there is a gap between receiving it and being able to use it. We need a flash box to stare at and wish we weren’t tied down by real-life things.
Speaking of the First Edition and opening a box turning into an event, who wouldn’t read this and immediately try and take the afternoon off to have a play? If you’re remotely piqued by the idea of a limited edition, numbered, product then the Corsair Dominator Titanium will hit the spot. I know if I was the Corsair CEO I’d have the #1 version of everything.
With the First Edition of the Corsair Titanium you not only get the memory modules themselves, here we have the resplendent white version although black ones are also available, but you also get the alternative heatsinks and a screwdriver to swap them around. We’ll show you that in a moment. Patience young padawan.
It might be one of those small things that doesn’t really affect things when you’re just interested in the memory, but we love that the Dominator Titanium comes with a Corsair branded screwdriver, allowing you to quickly change the tops of the memory modules without having to reach for your toolbox. It’s also cool if you’re one of the people who strongly identify with a certain brand and want to use it for building all your rig. Thanks to the alternative heads that’s possible.
Like Scarlett Johansson the Corsair screwdriver is small, but perfectly formed. Unlike Scarlett Johansson it’s attainable for mere mortals.
The second cool thing about this limited First Edition packaging is that we get a free pair of the heatsink alternative tops for those of you who either prefer the cool temperatures or dislike RGB lighting but still want the performance of this particular Dominator Titanium kit.
