1440p Performance
At 1440p we again see that the top GPUs in our performance charts are CPU-limited, with the RX 6800 XT, RTX 4090, and RTX 3070 Ti offering nigh-identical performance levels. A higher-end CPU would allow all of these GPUs to run Dead Island 2 faster on these graphics cards, and allow Nvidia’s RTX 4090 to stretch its legs. You will see the RTX 4090 storm ahead when we crank this game up to 4K, I promise.
To keep this game at over 60 FPS, Nvidia’s RTX 2080 Super and AMD’s RX 6700 XT are great options, though adding AMD’s FidelityFX Super Resolution 2 technology into the mix would allow most of the GPUs below to achieve average framerates of over 60 FPS.
Again, we can see that Nvidia’s RTX 2060 and GTX 1660 Super struggle due to their small 6GB frame buffer. Lower graphical settings will see the performance of these GPUs shoot up, allowing 1440p 60+ FPS performance levels to be achieved.
