We are gluttons for punishment over here. We want to give our readers the best advice, so we have slaved over the benchmarking table to try out most of Forza Horizon 5’s graphical settings. 

Starting at Extreme settings as a baseline, the graphics settings that have the largest impact on our test system with an RTX 3070 Ti graphics card is Shadow Quality, Environment Textures/Geometry Quality, SSAO, and Shader Quality. Most other settings have marginal or minimal performance impacts. 

These benchmark results were taken from Forza Horizon 5’s integrated benchmarking tool, with the game being rebooted after each setting change. Adding more MSAA to the game will result in reduced aliasing, though this will come with a significant performance impact. Even so, GPUs like Nvidia’s RTX 3080 Ti should be able to stay above 60 FPS in most of the game using Forza Horizon 5’s Extreme Preset with 8x MSAA.
