Ghost Recon: Wildlands Closed Beta PC Performance Review

Ghost Recon: Wildlands Closed PC Performance Review

1080p Performance

To say the least, Ghost Recon Wildlands is a demanding title, with the graph below showcasing our own benchmark results from the game at 1080p High settings, with the game featuring even higher graphical presets and settings.

This data is taken from gameplay and not the game’s built-in benchmarking tool, which we believe gives a clearer picture of how the game performs in reality. Here we can see that Wildlands performs much better on Nvidia hardware, with Nvidia’s Pascal-based GPUs offering a lot more performance than their Maxwell counterparts.

In most games, we see our GTX 1070 and GTX 980Ti offer very similar performance, though in this case we see a significant reduction in performance, with a 9FPS lower minimum framerate and a 11 FPS reduction in average framerate.

AMD’s offering far even worse, with ou RX 480 Strix offering a lot less performance than Nvidia’s GTX 1060 and AMD’s R9 Fury X offering no more performance than their newer Polaris based offerings. Ubisoft will need to work to improve their performance on AMD hardware, as the R9 Fury X should not be outperformed by an RX 480.
