Ghost Recon: Wildlands Closed Beta PC Performance Review

4K Screenshot Graphical Comparison

Simply put, Ghost Recon: Wildlands looks atrocious at low settings, lacking all shadows, all environmental reflections and high-resolution textures on the majority of in-game objects.

At low and medium settings the game can suffer from a lot of texture pop-in and other texture streaming issues, though this was a lot less noticeable on AMD hardware. This is likely a bus that will be ironed out before the game’s final retail release, though it is no doubt disappointing to see.

We can see that draw distances make noticeable changes at all graphical presets, with Very High settings affecting objects in the far off mountains and hillsides. While the game still looks good with lower draw distances, the very high preset certainly has a noticeable effect on object pop-in in the world, delivering a much more seamless experience.

Again PC gamers will want to settle with a minimum of Medium settings, as the game simply looks awful at lower graphical settings, though Low settings will have a huge performance impact that will make the game playable on some very low-end hardware configurations.
