Graphical Quality Comparison – Part 1

Moving through the game’s graphical settings, it is easy to notice adjustments to the game’s level of detail system, with each graphical upgrade showcasing increased draw distances for shadows, high-resolution textures, and a range of geometric details.

Unlike most modern PC titles the move to ultra provides gamers with a noteworthy increase in detail, especially when looking at the walls of Rattay in the distance, where the geometric and texture clarity of walls, towers and other fortifications are increased.

At low settings, we see a considerable decrease in distant detail over medium settings, with the camp in the mid-distance disappearing entirely from view. Another problem which is not seen in this screenshot is the fact that heads are often drawn in at different distances than the bodies of other characters, resulting in a sea of often headless masses when entering population centres and a more than a few headless horsemen at times.
