1440p Performance – Benchmark Results

To start things off, we will note one trend at 1080p that is consistent with our conclusions at 1080p. Look at the minimum framerate of our RTX 2080 Ti, and how close it is to the same GPU’s minimum framerate at 1080p. With this in mind, it is clear that the RTX 2080 Ti was at the limits of our i7 processor, rather than the performance boundaries of our RTX 2080 Ti graphics cards.

When compared to 1080p, 1440p offers around 88% more pixels to shade, making the resolution a lot more demanding on today’s graphics cards. Looking at the graph below, we can see that graphics cards on par with AMD’s RX Vega 64 and Nvidia’s RTX 2070 Founders Edition are required for a steady 60+ FPS framerate in most of the game at Ultra settings.

When looking at the GTX 1070, RTX 2060, GTX 1080 and RX Vega 56, we know that all of these GPUs can stay above 60FPS under most situations if we move down to the game’s High preset. With the GTX 1070 we will dip below 60FPS in challenging areas, but it will remain above 60 for the most part.
