The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered PC Performance Review and Optimisation Guide

Memory Performance – Is faster memory better?

Does Oblivion Remastered benefit from faster memory?

Like our prior CPU tests, memory speed changes had little to no impact on Oblivion’s performance in our test system when using Ultra settings. That said, below DDR5-5600 speeds, we did see drops in lower percentile framerates, albeit small drops.

Moving down to high settings, we see that the game is more memory-limited. Each increase in memory speed results in an uptick in performance. Both average and lower percentile frame rates are affected. Sadly, we do not have faster DDR5 memory available for testing. If we did, we might see higher performance levels using faster memory.
