Windows 10 Meltdown/Spectre Patch Performance Impact Assessment
Gears of War 4
When testing Gears of War 4, we found that game performance was not notably impacted by the patch when using our CPU in its standard 6-core, 12-thread setup.
To ensure that the game was more CPU limited we decided to conduct our games testing using our CPU with two active cores and four total threads, where we did find a small difference that was replicable across multiple runs, but not enough to impact gameplay noticeably.
