Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus PC Performance Review

1440p Benchmarks

Moving up to 1440p we see a similar trend as our 1080p results, with our R9 Fury X falling over due to its lack of VRAM and the RX 480 (without Async compute, see page 9) offering performance that exceeds the GTX 980 Ti.

If Async compute worked without any issues we would see an average of over 60FPS from our RX 480 Strix, though only the GTX 1070 and 1080 achieve average framerates of over 60 at all times in our demanding test case.

Our test scenario in this game is from one of the game’s more open world maps, with more enclosed locations typically offering much higher minimum and average framerates, making all GPUs here except for the R9 Fury X suitable for 60+ average framerates in large sections of the game.
