3XS RTX Studio Pro Review

ASUS ProArt PA348CGV

As part of the bundle you get from 3XS is the ProArt PA348CGV. If you’re used to decrypting model numbers then you’ll spot straight away that this is a Professional monitor with a 34″ width. Ultrawide monitors are perfect for creators. The amount of extra real estate might not seem like much – 3440×1400 vs 2560×1440 for a regular 16:9 – but those extra 880 pixels make a big difference. Whether you can open more windows, un-collapse more tools, or merely see more of your timeline, it’s a boon to your workflow.

Naturally as a monitor for the creatives amongst you, colour accuracy is key. The PA348CGV ticks a lot of boxes. 98% DCI-P3 coverage. 100% SRGB. Where you really get results is the Calman verification promising ΔE < 2 accuracy. It’s nice to know that your clients and subscribers will see your creation as you intended. With the knowledge you’ll be looking at it for many hours the 120Hz variable refresh rate and ergonomic stand ensure the minimum of eye and back strain. Don’t underestimate the importance of such things. An hours gaming isn’t remotely as physically draining as a day spent tweaking a render.

We especially like how ASUS have adjusted the modes on the ProArt PA348CGV. Instead of modes for gaming and movies – common on monitors, you have modes for colour grading. sRGB, Rec 709, DCI-P3, Reading and HDR and far more useful to creators than something that just pushes contrast to the limits.

Lastly the PA348CGV includes a desk C clamp option. Instead of the full-size stand you can just slide the pole into the supplied C clamp and save all that space on your desk. Like a vertical monitor arm.
