Introduction
Reviewing systems has always been a curious thing for us here at OC3D. As a site based around providing enthusiasts with the best possible information about differing items they can use to upgrade their current system, or even which items would suit their budgetary limitations whilst still providing great performance, showing an entire system slightly goes against our “anyone can build their own rig” ethos. Particularly when our combination of articles and knowledgeable forum users mean that even complete neophytes can be up to speed in the blink of an eye.
However, when it comes to water cooled systems there is a massive leap in technical expertise needed, and places it can go horribly wrong, which is usually enough to put off all but the most confident and diligent user. This makes a pre-built water cooled offering a very attractive proposition for most people.
We have reviewed many PC Specialist systems here at OC3D and we’ve found them all to have a great combination of part selection, attention to detail and great value. Whereas a lot of companies double their prices just because it’s a gaming system, PC Specialist will build it for barely more than you could yourself, yet give all the reassurance of an excellent warranty and the relaxation that comes from “buy, plug in, play” build, rather than the “and now I’ve got a pile of bits and a week off work” that some home builds can turn into.
Today we’re taking a look at their LS-H01 system. One which is stuffed with the best hardware and, as we will see on the next page, freaking gorgeous to look at.
Specifications
Our review model comes with red coolant, but you can have it with Green, Blue, Purple, Orange, Yellow, White and UV options if you’re not keen on red. They’ll even match the cabling up to your colour preference. With EK components throughout you can be guaranteed of outstanding quality from one of the most experienced names in water cooling. What is it keeping cool? Only a selection of hardware that appears on most peoples wish lists. An Intel Core i7-6700K overclocked to 4.6GHz forms the heart of the LS-H01, plugged into the excellent ASUS Maximus VIII Z170 Hero motherboard and backed up by 32GB of Kingston HyperX Fury DDR4.
Supplying these foundations with data is a blistering Samsung 512GB SM951 M.2 NVMe drive and that’s pumping information to two EVGA GTX 980 Ti SuperClock GPUs. Wrap that up in a Corsair Obsidian 750D and power it with the Corsair RM1000 and you can be sure that it will eat anything you throw in its direction.
