Lian Li PC-O7S Review

The Build

The accessories bag that comes with the PC-O7S is absolutely crammed, as it should be when you buy a £355 case.  In total you get the following; a cover plate for the HDD cage, a load of rubber isolation grommets, 4 cable management clamps, a hand ful of cable ties, 4 rubber feet for the PSU mount area, a USB adapter, a pair of molex fan adapters, a buzzer and of course all the usual screws etc.  On the not so good side, the instructions, although extensive are hard to follow and have truly miniscule black and white images. 

And so to the build.  First to go in is the PSU.  Although the PSU is actually hung from the mounting bracket, it’s actually easier to attach it with the case on its side.  Lian Li provide four rubber pads to attach to it to prevent it vibrating off the side panel once in place.

Even with the case on its side it’s still a bit of a fiddle to secure, especially with the chromed strengthening rod being in exactly the wrong place and as such obscuring two of the thumb bolt holes.  The mother board though is easier to place with Lain Li favouring narrow thumb bolts here as opposed to the more common simple screw.

With 310mm of room to play in, our old EN8800GT is positively dwarfed.  If you need more than 310mm then whipping out the HDD rack will up the space available to a staggering  410mm
