We have to confess to a little chuckle at the current range of Nvidia Founders Edition boxes. This is the company with the most lurid green colour scheme after all. An all black package is just amusing. Like they’ve made everyone use their green and then changed because they could.
If you’ve seen any FE card then the packaging and design will be familiar. If it isn’t broken don’t fix it.
Certainly thickness is one of the key elements of the RTX 4080 Super FE. It’s girthy. Three DisplayPort and one HDMI are your output options.
You can really get a feel on the size with this photo. We know how big the power connector is. Here, it looks relatively tiny. The Super has a beefy cooler to say the least.
Even the underside is vented. Expelling hot air is unquestionably the cornerstone of the Founders Edition design.
There are so many vents here that it is easy to use this image to test your monitors moiré fringing. Those of you with Trypophobia look away now.
The top side of the RTX 4080 Super is much smoother. Although it’s funny to see the fan appearing upside down. Just a trick of the light.
