Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora PC Performance Review and Optimisation Guide

4K Performance

Avatar at 4K

4K gaming has never been easy, and Frontiers of Pandora shows us why manufacturers need to create stronger graphics cards. Even with an RTX 4070 Ti or Radeon RX 7900 XT, we only enjoy Pandora at little more than 30 FPS at native 4K Ultra settings. DLSS and FSR Super Resolutions works wonders at 4K, but even then you will need a ultra-powerful PC to achieve 60+ FPS in this game at Ultra settings.

4K Optimisation

Thankfully, with lower graphical settings and DLSS/FSR super resolution, PC gamers can get a solid faux-K experience in Avatar. With a Radeon RX 6800 XT at 4K High settings with FSR 3 set to Balanced Mode with Frame Generation enabled, we achieve an average framerate of 111 FPS. That’s great news for anyone with a 120Hz VVR enabled screen. That’s a solid result from AMD’s RX 6800 XT. Similar results can also be achieved with an RTX 4070 with FSR 3. As mentioned before, DLSS Frame Generation is not available in this game.
