Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora PC Performance Review and Optimisation Guide

1080p Performance

1080p Performance

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is a demanding PC release. This is especially true if you crank this game’s settings up to Ultra. It takes an RX 6800 or RTX 3070 Ti to keep average framerates at over 60 FPS at 1080p. That’s a lot of GPU horsepower for what is now considered a low resolution target. Lower settings will give gamers a significant framerate boost and DLSS or FSR Super Resolution will deliver another. With these results at Ultra, we can see why Ubisoft locked “Unobtanium” settings behind a launch command.

Overall, Nvidia GPUs appear to outperform their Nvidia counterparts in Frontiers of Pandora, though not by much. With the right settings, most PC gamers will be able to get Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora running well on their PCs. Our optimised settings will be a good start for most gamers.

Can I get 60 FPS from a Radeon RX 6600?

With our two lowest-performing GPUs, AMD’s Radeon RX 6600 and Nvidia’s RTX 2060, we decided to see how this game ran at medium settings. We then used DLSS and FSR in quality mode (without frame generation) to see if we could achieve 60+ FPS framerates. While we failed to do so with the RTX 2060, we did manage to keep framerates at over 60 FPS on the RX 6600. Not bad for such a low-end GPU.
