1080p Performance – Benchmark Results

Borderlands 3’s Badass Preset is a huge performance hog, but it remains a great starting point for graphics card testing. We have detailed on pages 6 and 7 how each graphical preset and setting impacts the game, so please bear this in mind when judging how each of these graphics cards perform. 

Every GPU here can see performance gains with a few dropped settings, and many of these settings some with no major graphical downsides. Even the RX 580 and GTX 1060 are able to maintain 60 FPS framerates with the right settings and look great when doing so. 

Borderlands 3’s highest settings are uber demanding, but thankfully there are plenty of ways to claw back game performance while having a minor impact on the game’s visuals. 

Below we can also see how CPU-limited our RTX 2080 Ti results are, as the RT 2080 Ti often can deliver a 2x boost in framerate over our RTX 2060. As detailed on pages 5 and 8, this can be somewhat mitigated using DirectX 12. It’s just a shame that DirectX 12 doesn’t work properly right now.
