Diablo IV runs surprisingly well at 4K
Even at 4K Ultra settings, Diablo IV is fairly easy to run at 60+ FPS framerates during gameplay on modern graphics hardware, with GPUs like AMD’s RX 6800 and Nvidia’s RTX 4070 being able to reach this performance target without the addition of any form of upscaling.
By moving to high settings and enabling DLSS in Balanced mode, even GPUs like Nvidia’s RTX 2060 6GB are able to run Diablo IV at average framerates of well over 60 FPS. At 4K, both DLSS and FSR 2 deliver strong upscaling results, though DLSS does appear to deliver sharper overall imagery when the game is in motion. That said, it is hard to differentiate between the two at 4K when using their Balanced and above upscale settings.
For owners of 4K 120+Hz displays, graphics cards like AMD’s RX 7900 XTX and Nvidia’s RTX 4080 will provide gamers with a great high framerate 4K experience, and if DLSS or FSR is added into the mix, a similar 4K 120+ FPS experience can be enjoyed on GPUs like AMD’s Radeon RX 6800 and Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 4070.
