Forza Horizon 6 PC Performance Tested – 13 GPUs Tested
VRAM USE
VRAM use
Forza Horizon 6 isn’t overly VRAM-hungry on PC. That said, it can easily use 12GB of VRAM at 4K maxed-out settings. This isn’t a big problem, as almost all suitable 4K gaming GPUs have at least 12GB of VRAM. Furthermore, this game offers lower settings that can significantly reduce VRAM use.
Note that these charts showcase the VRAM allocated, not necessarily the VRAM that needs to be used before we start seeing VRAM-related performance issues. That said, we did not experience performance issues when using 8GB GPUs to try to play Forza Horizon 6 at 4K.
Want to use less VRAM? One simple answer is to simply disable ray tracing. Moving from Forza Horizon 6’s Extreme + RT Preset to Extreme reduced memory use by 1.8 GB. Moving from Extreme to Ultra settings results in another major drop in VRAM usage.
Using high settings results in VRAM requirements dropping below 8GB. That means that this game can fit into the frame buffers of all modern gaming GPUs. With lower settings, even 6GB GPU users should be able to run Forza Horizon 6 with relative ease.
