Hitman 2 PC Performance Review

Hitman 2 PC Performance Review

Performance Scaling – With AMD’s RX 580 and Nvidia’s GTX 1060

When comparing out GTX 1060 and RX 580 one thing becomes clear, Hitman 2 prefers Nvidia-branded graphics cards in a big way, with our ASUS ROG Strix GTX 1060 6GB offering performance levels that are closer to an RX Vega 56 than an RX 580, making Radeon graphics cards almost seem pathetic in this game. This is a strange turn of events, as Hitman 2016 seemed to prefer Radeon graphics cards at launch, even when using DirectX 11.

At 1080p, GTX 1060 users can expect to achieve 60 FPS in most situations at High settings, and Radeon RX 580 users expecting 60 using our Medium settings, though it is worth noting that factors like CPU performance and scene-specific hardware loads could allow framerate to be drastically higher or a little lower in some scenes.

For our graphics card tests, we loaded up Hitman 2’s “Another Life” stage, at it is not CPU limited and offers some of the most stressful GPU loads in the game.
