Just Cause 4 PC Performance Review

Performance Scaling – With AMD’s RX 580 and Nvidia’s GTX 1060

Just Cause 4 can be an extremely demanding game, especially when the game is at its most explosive. In the case of our ASUS GTX 1060 and RX 580 graphics cards, this means that 1080p at constant 60 FPS at max settings is out of the question.

Our test area is representative of a demanding scene, with enough fighting going on to represent average in-combat gameplay. Larger stresses are possible in specific scenes, though these areas are rare. We played Just Cause four for around six hours before conducting our testing, and we are happy to call our test area a representative of the game’s demanding combat scenes while offering the repeatability and accuracy we need to be useful.

What we found is that our RX 580 outperforms Nvidia’s GTX 1060, though both graphics cards need to be set to high to get average framerate of over 60FPS and medium to reach minimum framerates above this number. This isn’t a bad showing for either graphics card given the 30FPS targets of Just Cause 4’s console versions.
