Monster Hunter Wilds PC Benchmark Analysis

Preset Scaling

Preset Scaling in Monster Hunter Wilds’ PC benchmark

The first thing that we will note is that Capcom has integrated DLSS/FSR upscaling into their default graphical presets in Monster Hunter Wilds’ PC benchmark. Sadly, upscaling is where most of Monster Hunter Wilds’ PC scalability comes from.

Using Ultra settings at DLSS Balanced mode gives us a 69.77 FPS average framerate result with our RTX 4070 Ti. Using High settings with DLSS in Balanced mode gives us a 72.33 FPS framerate. That’s an average performance boost of less than 3 FPS.

Monster Hunter Wilds is relying too heavily on upscaling to deliver higher performance levels in Monster Hunter Wilds. Most other settings have a minimal performance impact. Hopefully this changes for the final game. As it stands, this isn’t a good look for Capcom.
