Resident Evil 7: Biohazard PC Performance Review

What is the difference between the sRGB and BT.709 colour spaces?

When playing Resident Evil 7 on PC players have the choice between sRGB and BT.709 colour spaces, both of which provide very different images despite the fact that both cover the same theoretical colour space.

The difference between both colour space options is simply down to contrast, with BT.709 providing darker shadows while sRGB provides brighter dark sections but provides users with a clearer end image, with some details being easier to perceive.

Whichever colour space you use will be down to user preference and will depend on how well your display can handle high-contrast images, with BT.709 providing a darker end image which will provide a better “horror game experience” for some users.

Below are a few screenshots that I have taken to compare both colour spaces.
