4K Screenshot Graphical Comparison

With Resident Evil 7 we can see that the there are a lot of large visual differenced when moving from Very Low to Very High settings, with the highest settings coming with light shafts, reflections and enhanced texture resolutions.

Moving from low to high we can also see the differenced between FXAA and SMAA, with SMAA providing a sharper image compared to the more blurred image provided by FXAA. When looking at our 4K images below you can see that a lot of detail is lost from far away objects when using FXAA, only becoming more blurred if the user opts for Temporal Anti-Aliasing (TAA).

We can see that in simpler areas with relatively few light sources that the in-game visuals do not change much when moving above Medium settings, with the biggest impact coming when players move to higher levels of texture quality and Mesh quality when looking at objects up close.

When comparing High to Very High it is very difficult to actually notice a difference in visual quality, which means that the majority of players on PC could benefit from lowering their settings for a higher framerate in-game.
