Thermal Testing
We didn’t test the be quiet! Light Base 900 FX like other PC cases. With this review, we decided to do something a little differently. We used this case as our review platform for AMD’s new X870 series motherboards. As such, we tested this case using a system with an RTX 4090, a Ryzen 9 9950X, and various motherboards. That allowed us to install a lot of hardware inside this case and see how cool our CPU and GPU were inside it. This case was used for the following AM5 motherboard reviews;
- ASUS Strix X870-A Gaming WiFi Review
- ASUS ROG Strix X870E-E Review
- Gigabyte X870 Aorus Elite WiFi7 Review
- Gigabyte X870E Aorus Master Review
- ASUS ROG X870E Crosshair Hero Review
- MSI MAG X870 Tomahawk WiFi Review
- MSI X870E MPG Carbon WiFi Review
We used be quiet’s Light Loop 360 CPU liquid cooling solution for our CPU testing. We reviewed this CPU cooler last month and thought it was the perfect pairing for Be Quiet’s new Light Loop 900 PC case and AMD’s latest AM5 motherboards.
Below are some of the CPU temperature readings for an AMD Ryzen 9 9950X under full load with a be quiet Light Loop 360mm CPU cooler inside a be quiet Light Base 900 PC case. AMD’s flagship remained under 75 degrees on all the motherboards we tested. Clearly, this case has enough airflow for any high-end gaming system.
