Yep. That’s the flagship Core i9 on the right. These Xeons are massive. Enormous. If they were any bigger we’d have to make a film in which they battled Godzilla. “Yes, can we have the thermal paste in the largest tube you sell, thanks”.

Thankfully once you get past the size of it, it’s just as easy to fit and use as any other processor you’ve seen. Intel deserve a lot of credit for keeping their incredibly niche processors within the usability scale of their regular models.

As well as the ASROCK W790 WS motherboard we’ve got some seriously high end memory courtesy of Kingston. Yes, this is a 128 GB 6000 MHz DDR5 kit. If you’re gonna go big, you might as well go as big as you can.

Another large consideration when reviewing such high end hardware as this is power. The Asrock board has two extra PCIE 8 pin connectors on the board just to help feed the CPU with power! So with the possible power draw we have been warned about when overclocking plus wanting lots of connectors and relability we only had one place to turn…. The trusty Corsair HX1500i with its 10 year waranty and Platinum rating, if this PSU cant cope with it then Intel may have problems.
