Makera Z1 Review – CNC Machining for the Masses

4-Axis Module

4-axis module

Out of the box, the Makera Z1 is a 3-axis CNC machine, but it can be upgraded to 4-axis with its 4th-axis add-on. This add-on adds a rotational axis to the Z1, allowing it to create three-dimensional objects. Included with this add-on is everything needed to attach it to the Z1, alongside two blocks of epoxy for practice projects.

The unit comes with detailed installation instructions and everything needed to secure the stock to the 4th-axis module. Note that users of the Z1 should not plug in the 4th axis module while the Z1 is powered on.

While the build area available when using the 4th-axis module is limited, it can be used to achieve great results.

Below are a few projects that we completed using the 4th axis module. As you can see, this module can be used to complete some very detailed work.
