Assassin's Creed Odyssey PC Performance Review

1080p Performance – Benchmark Results

Here is where we can see exactly how demanding Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey can be, with even Nvidia’s mighty GTX 1080 being unable to achieve solid 60 framerates when using the game’s high preset. Even at these settings both the graphics card and CPU are under heavy loads, with some areas of the game being CPU limits while others are GPU limited.

Thankfully everything over our ASUS RX 580 Strix and  ASUS GTX 1060 Strix is able to achieve a solid 40 FPS framerate, which is good news for those with variable refresh rate monitors. Those who don’t, and dislike tearing will need to lock the game to half of their PC’s refresh rate, which in most cases will be 30FPS in order to achieve steady performance. 60FPS will be beyond the reach of those without ultra-high-end PCs.

Moving down to our R9 380 and GTX 960 graphics cards, our main problem is that they are both VRAM limited. We will look into game settings for these graphics cards on page 14.
